February twelfth two thousand and twenty-two was the best day of my life. Before I get into the juicy details of that day, we need to date back to two days before when Eli told me that he decided to take me on a surprise trip for my birthday! We came home from a birthday dinner where I celebrated with my immediate family, and he had a gift waiting for me in the car. I open and it says, "Pack your bags! we're going to Fredericksburg, Tx!" we had never been before, so we were both extremely excited. I didn't think anything of it. Fast-forward to Friday evening, we arrive at the cutest Airbnb I have ever seen. Our house had a patio so close to wildlife, if we were quiet enough, we could see and hear the deer. That night, Eli tells me that he made plans for us to go on a winery tour at Signor Vineyards, I was pumped (& still oblivious)! Saturday morning comes and we are both getting ready to head out to the vineyard - little did we know that the weather decided to take a horrible turn on us, and it went from being 70 degrees to 50 degrees! We were a hundred percent not prepared nonetheless we get to the place and we're early by a few minutes, we're in the car waiting patiently for a worker to open the gates. Finally, it’s time to go in and I beg him to tell the host that we need to sit inside because it’s just too cold for me. Our first flight of wine comes, and we are enjoying every sip, we didn’t eat beforehand, so he knows that I’m going to be feeling the first few sips almost immediately. After we finish the flight, he suggests walking toward the giftshop for some souvenirs so I follow him there and then as we start getting closer to the shop, he stops, gets down on one knee, pulls out the ring of my dreams, and asks, “will you marry me?”. I’m in complete and utter shock, I had no idea this was coming! As soon as he went down, a rush of emotions come to me, and I of course immediately say yes! I don’t even notice at first, but a photographer is around the corner, capturing this moment for us. Before, we even get to soak it in, she takes us to the other side of the vineyard for a few shots and then she starts walking back toward the giftshop when suddenly, we both see our families! Oh gosh, by then Eli and I have buckets of tears streaming down our faces and we are so full of joy and happiness. As I said, the best day of my life.
